Research before an interview
You need to know as much as possible about the job and the company. Even though you have likely researched the company before applying, you need to go into more depth before attending the interview. Focus on the following things:
- The company
- The role
- Their competitors
- The wider industry
- Recent news
You can find information from various sources to get a full picture, including their website, social media, review sites like Glassdoor, and Google News. You can even use LinkedIn to research employees of the business in similar functions/divisions and get an idea of responsibilities and their background.
Make sure you make notes of your research, either physical or on your phone, so you can revise every time you have a couple of minutes to spare in the days leading up to the interview. Also, remember to only bring up positive aspects of your research in the interview.
