Our client, a major Oil and Gas Operator have an opportunity for a Subsea Engineer to work in a long term Permanent Hire position based in Houston,Texas. _
The Subsea Engineer will participate project progress, staff, budget, monitor change orders, attend regular project meetings and can be consulted extensively by associates. This person will be responsible for understanding and supporting cost effective field architecture designs, and interfacing with Pipeline, Flow Assurance, Riser Analysis, Marine, etc. as applicable
- Provides bid engineering support and prepare CTR related to subsea design and installation.
- Resolves important questions and negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations.
- Researches available subsea hardware options as well as stay abreast of current design qualification efforts in industry in order to implement them into the field architecture.
- Checks specs, datasheets, reports, technical notes, procedures, Instructions and Notes to Bidders, RFQ and procurement packages for PO award and material requisitions, and bid evaluations.
- May be assigned to work on complex subsea projects with conflicting design requirements, unconventional materials or installation requirements.
- Develops innovative subsea design, inventions, patents, technologies and present these in white papers at industry trade shows.
- Provides marketing support to the business development group.
- Provides offshore support as required for projects.
Education:
- BS degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience:
- 5 years of Engineering experience in the offshore subsea industry.
- Familiar with field development scenarios, riser and subsea structure design and installation scenarios, both in shallo and deep water primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.
- Familiar with subsea design codes (API, DnV, ASME, BS).
Qualifications:
- Able to work with minimum supervisor on subsea engineering problems and methods.
- Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, consultants, vendors, drafting designers, and other lead engineers in multi-discipline projects.
- Must have good computer skills and be proficient on Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have good handwriting and presentation skills, proficiency in project management.
