_RESPONSIBILITIES_

- _You will need working knowledge of subsea hardware equipment, including horizontal and vertical trees, jumpers, manifolds, connection systems, and valves, as well as qualification, testing, and installation methods_
- _You should be familiar with and have experience applying API 6A and 17D, and other relevant API, ISO, and ASME subsea hardware and piping standards_
- _Develop subsea hardware selection justification documents, product specifications, and other project specific documents and drawings including tree and manifold PIDs_
- _Perform technical assessments of vendors proposed product lines to support the maintenance of the Subsea Approved Vendor List_
- _Participate in design and SHE reviews (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments) and verify related risk and reliability issues are closed out_
- _Qualify new technologies and subsea hardware for project use_
- _Perform necessary identified studies to support the development and/or understanding of new subsea technologies_
- _Liaise with project teams, other functional organizations (e.g. Drilling, Reservoir, Flow Assurance, and Materials), EPC contractors and vendors to ensure subsea hardware related equipment is designed, delivered and installed in line with project requirements and objectives_
- _Address hardware system functionality and optimization to assure project expectations for functionality and operability are met_
- _Participate in pre-commissioning, system integration testing, installation, and commissioning activities of subsea hardware equipment_
- _Promote safety in all project aspects of vendor manufacturing assembly, testing, installation, and operations_

REPORTS TO:

Pipelines General Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide support for the development of a major internationally recognized pipeline project/s involving Uganda, Kenya and potentially Sudan and Ethiopia. To initially provide the correct technical guidance, systems of working and controls that ensure the on-going fitness for purpose of pipelines and related equipment in accordance with good industry practice and in compliance with all legislative and/or regulatory requirements.

- To ensure appropriate specification, design, manufacture, installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of pipelines and related equipment.
- To develop appropriate concepts, designs, standards, specifications and operating procedures for the pipelines.
- To support the Project Lead in a project engineering type role to manage the pipeline aspects of the overall project.

RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY OBJECTIVES:

- Technical assurance in respect of the Pipeline Project, authorizing key drawings and documents, controlling technical and functional changes on the project.
- Technical lead for the design, specification, manufacture, installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of the new pipeline/s and related equipment.
- Supervise and manage external contractors for pipeline concept and flow assurance studies, design analyses and simulations for the functional design, specifications for pipelines and pipeline systems, detailed design, interface design and the development of installation and construction methods and procedures.
- Supervise a team for the execution of the pipeline project in coordination with other functional managers for Terminal, Offshore and AGI works on the pipeline.
- Support the development of local engineering and management skills to provide a legacy of capabilities in country.
- Provide input on both contractor and consultant selection and manage external specialist consultants or contractors.
- Develops (with the team) the philosophies, standards, designs and specifications that are integral with development requirements, project objectives and operational requirements.
- Contributes to reliability, availability and operability studies to verify suitability of designs.
- Participates in design reviews, HAZID and HAZOP studies.
- Develops requirements for pipeline technical integrity.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Financial authority structure to be advised. The incumbent participate in decisions and technically assure for capital equipment and works of $ high tens/hundreds of millions value, and contracts of $ hundreds of millions to $ billions value.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION: ENGINEERING DEGREE (PREFERABLY PROCESS OR MECHANICAL)

SKILLS:

Extensive experience in the discipline within the international oil and gas industry including from concept development through to operation.

Able to carry out conceptual design, technical/operational feasibility studies, planning and cost estimation.

Knowledge of the full range of pipeline technologies, installation methods and operational procedures applied in the oil/gas industry including: onshore, intra field/ inter field / trunk systems, flow enhancement technologies (for e.g waxy crude), hot oil pipelines, pipeline integrity management.

Ability to travel internationally to onshore and offshore sites as required.

Education:
