JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Process Safety Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the HES Risk Management process for Gulf of Mexico BU-led MCPs. Candidate will manage a robust Risk Management Process which includes oversight for all qualitative and quantitative risk assessments. This also includes following the closure of all recommendations made during these studies.

EDUCATION:

Degree in Engineering Field

EXPERIENCE:

10+ year`s experience in Upstream or Downstream Oil and Gas

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Provide support to HES Team Lead in Execution of the Project OE/HES Plan and HES Risk Management Plan. o Ensure HES risks are identified and properly mitigated through implementation of the Risk Mgt process to include IHAZIDs, HAZOPs and QRAs, as well as industry best practice risk management processes and methods. o Work with multi-functional teams on the development of detailed HES Risk Assessments (Safety Studies) in accordance with HES Risk Management Plan - to include design reviews with the Project Team for ways to improve the design. o Work with multi-functional teams to define the as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) requirements in accordance with the Project OE/HES Plan, and provide assurance that the design meets these ALARP requirements. o Participates as a member of the project team in the preparation of key project documents to include the Project Execution Plan, specifications, equipment
data sheets, bid packages and execution contracts. o Design reviews for the Contractor`s engineering and execution efforts for fire and explosion modeling, QRA, SID, etc. o Participates as a member of the project team during design optimization reviews, HAZOP/SOA,SID and advise other members of the project team of ways to improve the design o Participates as a member of the project team overseeing the preparation of key project documents such as specifications, equipment data sheets, bid packages and execution contracts o Ensures that the quality of Process Safety Information is sufficient to allow operations to implement PSM after handover

_RESPONSIBILITIES_

- _You will need working knowledge of subsea hardware equipment, including horizontal and vertical trees, jumpers, manifolds, connection systems, and valves, as well as qualification, testing, and installation methods_
- _You should be familiar with and have experience applying API 6A and 17D, and other relevant API, ISO, and ASME subsea hardware and piping standards_
- _Develop subsea hardware selection justification documents, product specifications, and other project specific documents and drawings including tree and manifold PIDs_
- _Perform technical assessments of vendors proposed product lines to support the maintenance of the Subsea Approved Vendor List_
- _Participate in design and SHE reviews (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments) and verify related risk and reliability issues are closed out_
- _Qualify new technologies and subsea hardware for project use_
- _Perform necessary identified studies to support the development and/or understanding of new subsea technologies_
- _Liaise with project teams, other functional organizations (e.g. Drilling, Reservoir, Flow Assurance, and Materials), EPC contractors and vendors to ensure subsea hardware related equipment is designed, delivered and installed in line with project requirements and objectives_
- _Address hardware system functionality and optimization to assure project expectations for functionality and operability are met_
- _Participate in pre-commissioning, system integration testing, installation, and commissioning activities of subsea hardware equipment_
- _Promote safety in all project aspects of vendor manufacturing assembly, testing, installation, and operations_

_QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE _

- _B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering _
- _Minimum of 8 years subsea industry experience_

The ideal candidate will be a proven Sales Business Development leader with a proven Subsurface, Reservoir, Geology or Geological Technical background.

A thorough understanding of the leading Geological or Engineering software packages is desirable, coupled with a broad understanding of the commercial technical aspects of the petroleum sector would be highly advantageous.

Highly developed computer skills and competence in using MS Excel, Word PowerPoint are required.

The Strategic Sales Director must have a strong academic technical background, educated ideally to a minimum Degree level in Engineering or a related discipline.
