Responsibilities
Establish a FPSO project team of suitable experience and capability.
-Initially work along with the Project Manager Subsea & Installation, the Field Development Plan (FDP) preparation team and the Operations team during concept selection through to approval of the final FDP.
Participate in all aspects of the prequalification and final selection of bidders including inspection of potential contractors` facilities and audit of the management systems.
Prepare tender documents for all FPSO related contract(s) and coordinate as necessary with all support personnel including Legal, Insurance, HSSE etc.
Upon project sanction and contract award take full responsibility through to handover to Production Operations
Attend each site regularly, e.g. on a monthly basis, for the purpose of progress review and contractor performance assessment.
Prepare suitable weekly project reports highlighting all areas of concern in particular contractual risks, schedule constraints and any technical issues requiring senior management attention.
Collaborate closely with the Subsea & Installation, Drilling and Production Operations teams to ensure smooth interfacing and caretaking of joining issues.
Manage the hand over of the FPSO to Production Operations fully certified and ready for introduction of hydrocarbons.
Experience required
- 10 years` experience in EPC project management with at least one project associated with FPSO or similar installation.
- Can demonstrate strong leadership capabilities in a project environment where schedule constraints are of primary concern.

Our client, a major Oil and Gas Operator have an opportunity for a Rotating Equipment/Machinery Engineer to work on an FPSO project, on a long term contract based in Houston, Texas.
EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years experience in design, specification, procurement, testing, commissioning, start-up, repair, replacement, and troubleshooting of mechanical and rotating equipment and equipment packages.
- Experience with large electric driven compressors and pumps
- Experience with large turbine driven generators and compressors
- Experience with heat exchanger design and construction
- Prior experience installing, maintaining, and/or operating equipment on FPSO`s
- Knowledge of applicable UK and European industry codes and standards considered highly desirable.
- Requires a layman`s level of experience and familiarity with offshore producing operations, facilities, and controls and safety systems.
- Previous experience working effectively within large Major Capital Project teams during FEED, detailed engineering, fabrication and construction, and installation and commissioning

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of specific codes, and industry standards and practices applicable to the design, procurement, fabrication, inspection, testing, commissioning, start up and maintenance of mechanical and rotating equipment packages.
Requires a layman`s level of knowledge for other disciplines involved in the design of the offshore production equipment and facilities (e.g.- process, instrumentation and controls, structural, piping, electrical, etc.).
Knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment monitoring requirements that should be included in equipment design for analysis and predictive maintenance.
Capable of managing the preparation of plans for pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of mechanical and rotating equipment packages.

The Mechanical-Static Design Engineer is expected to be able to provide:
- Support to existing facilities including:
o Specialization in refractory or non-metallic materials
o Shutdown planning and risk based assessments

Experience and Qualifications:
The Mechanical-Static Engineer should have a BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

- The MS Engineer is expected to have a sound background in engineering, as well as knowledge in the field of process technology, equipment design, and failure mechanisms.

- The Mechanical-Static (MS) Engineer should have extensive plant and project experience involving design, troubleshooting, maintenance, mechanical and static inspections, technical specifications and Mechanical-Static Designs.
- The engineer should have some knowledge of oil, petrochemical, and gas Mechanical-Static Design international standards such as API, ASME and ISO.

The Materials and Corrosion Engineer is expected to be able to provide:
- Support to existing facilities including (Upstream and/or Downstream Manufacturing):
o Identify needs for and direct laboratory work for materials qualifications for materials in well, flowline, and pipeline equipment.
o Ability to establish equipment and integrity operating windows based on materials compatibility and life cycle costs
o Material specification and prequalification
o Turnaround inspection and repair recommendations, and overall Quality assurance
o Leading metallurgical failure investigations: identifying failure modes and directing laboratory testing and examinations, skillful in use of failure investigation tool s such as metallography, SEM, mechanical testing etc.
o Troubleshooting, and technical support for corrosion and materials issues in operating plant equipment in refineries, petrochemical facilities, pipelines, and upstream surface facilities.
o Process equipment operating data analysis and interpretations, as it relates to the control of integrity operating windows. Emphasis is on corrosion degradation mechanism identification and control.
o Preparation of corrosion control documents or corrosion control strategies for key process units in downstream, upstream, and gas assets
o Project support / quality assurance for materials selection, understanding the process parameters impacting corrosion and equipment life.
o Ability to develop and use corrosion models to predict corrosion rates and determine methods to control. Ability to perform failure diagnosis and mitigation work on degraded components.
o Corrosion inhibition - materials testing/compatibility, inhibitor qualification for wells and pipeline/flowline services
Education / Experience:
-Minimum of BS in metallurgical, corrosion, or chemical engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience (preferably 10 years) as a materials and corrosion engineer in the oil production or refining industry. Experience in both industries is a plus.
