My client is a leading Systems Integrator / IT Services provider that specialise in enterprise level solutions. They are looking for a Project Manager with Applications Development and / or Infrastructure Projects experience. The Project Manager will be given full responsibility to deliver to time and budget ensuring all risks and issues are identified and managed.

The Project Manager will work in an exciting dynamic team environment based on a major account of over 3,000 users and an IT Team of approaching 100 staff. This is an opportunity to work onsite of a major, market leading Financial Services Company.

The Project Manager will have full ownership of the delivery on multiple projects of varying sizes & complexities, giving you control for the full scope of the projects including its budget.

Senior Structural Engineer -

Key aims and objectives

Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design)

Act as discipline focal point as required

Prime responsibilities and duties

Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
Carry out work in accordance with project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
Maintain the required technical quality of work
Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to discipline workscope
Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
Maintain good communication with the Client and visit sites when necessary
Carry out site surveys
Maintaining filing system
Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project

Desirable:

Associate member or equivalent of appropriate engineering institution

Experience

Essential:

Experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise
Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs
Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting
Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering
Able to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work
Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates
Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
Competent in design safety / environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both self and subordinates

Desirable:

Capable of generating a co-operative team based culture for groups under his control
Able to take a lead in motivation, training, and ongoing education of subordinates
Able to supervise and technically direct a small single discipline team of engineers and designers

Our client is a West Yorkshire based fine chemicals manufacturer. They are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work on a long term contract.

The candidate will need to have a Mechanical Engineering qualification, recent design experience and experience in equipment manufacture. The candidate will also need to have experience of client interaction and have a proactive approach to work. Previous experience of project work is essential and experience of working in the Chemical or Water industry is preferable.

They are now seeking to expand their Unix capability by recruiting a Unix Systems Administrator / Unix Support Engineer focussed on the area HP-UX 11i v3 administration
The Unix Systems Administrator / Unix Support Engineer should have a deep understanding of related HP technologies. Working in the IT Services Infrastructure Operations team, the HP-UX Administrator will make a significant contribution to the operational support and management of the IT infrastructure.

The Unix Systems Administrator / Unix Support Engineer should possess extensive knowledge of UNIX technologies and products, to include;

- Deep technical knowledge of HP-UX 11i v3 administration (Itanium)
- HP-UX patching and update
- HP Superdome

In addition to Unix Technologies, the Unix Systems Administrator / Unix Support Engineer should also have exposure to a number of the following;

- Virtualisation (vPars)
- Shell Scripting
- HP Data Protector
- Performance tuning
- XP12000 storage
- Knowledge of Oracle infrastructure
- COSbatch scheduler

Notes
- Willingness to work within an out of hours on-call rota required
- Excellent interpersonal/customer relationship experience required
