Our client is seeking an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER to keep pace with expanding sales and product development. The primary responsibility for this position is to support existing products and new product development. THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST POSSESSEXPEREINCE WITH SPEL.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Design and preparation of necessary drawings, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and interconnection diagrams

3D design of new products including all electrical components

Develops AC DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable termination schedules

Completes component research for new product development

Interacts and coordinates effectively with all other Company departments

Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance

Writes technical manuals and develops schematics to describe and illustrate system`s operating characteristics

DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of Electrical Engineering BASc program or equivalent with 3-5 years experience

Must be able to read and produce electronics schematics

Computer literacy is essential for the role, so candidates will need to be experienced with Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 (mainly Excel and Word), Visio

Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot and solve problems

Experience with CAD packages such as Solidworks Electrical

Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code and/or National Electrical codes

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate effectively with all disciplines at all levels of the Company

The aims of this role is to review the mechanical or electrical equipment associated with our clients projects, assess the risk ranking of the equipment and create the necessary equipment strategies to ensure all mechanical or electrical equipment is in a suitable condition for the seamless start-up of facilities during an emergency scenario.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out overall risk ranking of project systems at a high level.

Work with the computerized maintenance management team to develop the criticality ranking of equipment.

Review, assess and rank equipment criticality in a storage scenario.

Review, assess and rank equipment criticality for the start-up of the MWCS process facilities.

Work with the overall project engineering team to understand design and maintenance that may be required.

KEY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Construction Manager for scope and timing direction on IA`s.

Reports to Projects Interface Manager for process and assignment direction.

Coordinates Company and Contractor Interface Agreements with the Home Office Interface Coordinator.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for development, approval and performance measurement of Interface Agreements (IA`s) between the project team and the appropriatepersonnel as laid out in the Company Interface Management Plan.

Ensures that the construction manager and interface manager are aware of progress, issues and concerns related to interface management.

Work with site contractors to determine where interfaces exist between them, then work with the contractors to manage those interfaces.

Ensures that contractors understanding and use of interface management processes and plans are aligned with project plan requirements. Supports the contractors in their development of their interface plans and procedures. Ensures that contractors utilize consistent IA formats and tools aligned with project requirements.

Conducts regular project wide coordination meetings with contractors to ensure progress and resolution of interfaces. Assists in the interface agreement conflict resolution process.

Supports the interface group administrative assistant in maintaining the Interface Data Register.

Develop WCMP, SCL and contractor contact information for each IA.

Assist the WCMP and SCL contacts in defining the information required by both and the manner in which the information will be transferred. Provide ongoing support as required.

Monitor the performance of the IA`s and make revisions as required. Revisions to be approved by originators.

Report progress and concerns to the Projects Interface Manager.

Assist in maintaining the Interface Management Plans - provide input on process improvement and partiocipate in reviews and revisions to the plans.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 7 years project engineering and construction experience on major heavy industrial construction projects.

Experience in planning, scheduling and managing construction work, especially where coordination of two or more contractors was required.

Experience in formal interface management.

General understanding of oil sand mining, extraction and processing.

- Review estimates completed on constructability suggestions to verify accuracy

- Facilitate a productive working relationship between the contractors and engineers
- Key role in reactivating area/silo constructability suggestions that have stalled or for promoting constructability suggestions that are site wide issues.
- Review weekly contractor constructability reports and follow-up actions as required
- Ensure contractor constructability input is happening in a timely fashion and that the contractor is not causing unnecessary engineering rework
- Provide constructability input to the engineering design
- Get involved in reviews (I.E. of procurement deliverables, contracting strategies, etc.) to provide construction input. .
- Complete drawing reviews of drawings within the construction managers area of responsibility
- Take a leadership role in actioning adhoc constructability reviews. These are reviews that ````come up```` that need to have a specific, focused review. For example a constructability review of deep undergrounds has been identified by IORVL as a ````must have review```` once the deliverables are available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Completion of college diploma in related field

- AREA COMMISSIONING LEAD

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide management and leadership in the execution of the Systems Completion process, ensuring that systems are mechanically completed at Turnover, fully commissioned at Handover, and ready to operate as per requirements of the Systems Completion Plan, Control Procedures and Specifications.
- Manage multi discipline teams of commissioning engineers and technicians , vendors and specialist subcontractors , typically up to 200 personnel on site.
- Responsible for the interface and Turnover from Construction at Mechanical Completion, the direct ownership of Commissioning (Static Dynamic) resulting in Handover to Operations and providing assistance in Start-Up and Acceptance Testing efforts.
- Accountable for the Commissioning teams safe performance and delivery to schedule
- Support the Commissioning Coordinator to work together with Operations as one integrated team from commissioning/first hydrocarbon through operation leading to ensure a smooth transition to Operations and acceptance of the facilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Interface with Company Safety Advisor and Contractor Safety Officers to ensure a safe and environmentally sound job area.
- Provide overall Systems Completion leadership and expertise to the area core commissioning team and at Engineering and Construction interfaces.
- Manage and direct the preparation, planning and execution of all multi discipline Systems Completion activities in the assigned plant area(s).
- Assist the Commissioning Coordinator in the preparation and review of documents, procedures, processes plans, schedules, reports etc. as necessary
- Identify and manage commissioning resource needs, tools , test equipment , plant, spares etc. progressively through all project phases.
- Liaise and interface with PE`s , CMT , MC, Start-Up, and Operations personnel
- Development and maintenance of Systems Completion Plan, procedures and other key deliverables during each project phase
- Design phase - Receive and coordinate Systems Completion documentation submitted by FEED and EPC Contractors to obtain appropriate EMDC and EMPC endorsements and approvals.
- Design phase - Identifie and resolve commissioning issues.
- Manage and direct Company Systems Completion staff assigned to the Commissioning campaign.
- Assure required outcome of static and dynamic commissioning performed by core teams and all related testing by EP and Area Prime contractors and Vendors including at FATs, SITs and Sat`s.
- Ensure appropriate systems MC, Turnover, Commissioning, and Handover documentation is completed correctly and comprehensively.
- Assist Commissioning Coordinator in working with the TOA`s and Start up Team to achieve successful Handover, Start Up, and acceptance by Operations.
- Review and develop Systems Completion Plans for each phase of a project
- Develops plans and interfaces to ensure a safe and effective field completion phase and transition of systems to steady state operations.
- Develop Commissioning (Static Dynamic) Management Procedures, Systems Acceptance Procedures/Progress Monitoring, Turnover and Completion Packages, and provides input to Start-up and Operating Procedures.
- Verify commissioning activities are thoroughly planned, staffed and executed safely
- Ensure maintenance of the Systems Completion Database and Planning interface for MC and Commissioning progress tracking, reporting certification, and quality purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE

In-depth knowledge of:

- Project Completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria

- Facilities commissioning and Start-Up operations

- College / technical diploma in related field
- 10+ years of Project Completion and Operations experience.
- Previous successful leadership role during Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Start Up and initial plant Operations planning.
- Expert technical skills and judgment.
- Strong understanding of Project execution, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning Completion practices.
- Strong understanding of work planning, scheduling and tracking.
- Demonstrated management and organizational ability for large teams with strong people skills.
