Role Description

The Process Safety Engineer (PSE) will provide specialist expertise to support the project in the implementation of PSE philosophies.
The PSE will also have a lead role in managing major project accident hazards and risks.
Support the projects by taking a leadership role in process safety to ensure that process safety concerns relating to the full life cycle of the project have been identified, understood, and managed.

PROJECT MANAGER:

As a multi-disciplined organization, we can undertake every stage of mining project development from scoping studies and metallurgical test work, to feasibility analysis and final design, to construction and commissioning.

Summary of Position:

The primary function of this individual is to build the project team while ensuring successful delivery of mining metallurgical projects within budget, on schedule and in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and applicable government codes, all within established project methodologies.

Responsibilities:

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Maintain a healthy and safe workplace, and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and legislation, including occupational health and safety, WHMIS and hazardous substances programs
Manage capital projects through all states of the project life cycle from initiation through to project close out
Develop project work plans and schedules, discuss project priorities with client, plan assigned program
Prepare cost estimates and budgets
Forecast monthly revenue, monthly financial reporting and client invoicing
Direct and coordinate technical employees or consultants in the preparation of studies, designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates
Ensure that all project components and activities meet local, provincial and or federal codes and regulations
Approve trade supplier and contractor invoices in accordance with project specifications, field change orders,
Identify and manage all project issues and risks
Proactively liaise with and report progress to customers
Reconcile project performance against plan at project completion, and conduct customer satisfaction assessments
Close down the project ensuring that a complete handover to the client and support team is done and that all relevant project documentation is present and accurate for the project file

Qualifications:

BSc in an applicable engineering discipline
15-20 years of experience in managing industrial and mining metallurgical projects
Experience managing large teams in multi-disciplinary teams
Prior EPC/EPCM project experience on major projects
Demonstrated knowledge of all project functions
Distinct results orientation combined with outstanding communication, interpersonal and team building skills
Working knowledge of design and construction practices
Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish program policies and procedures and evaluate their effectiveness
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent client service/management, interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

Responsible for the:

Development of method statements, risk assessments, construction execution, constructability, transport logistic and rigging plans for all types of contract and project.

Assist in the prequalification of subcontractors, carry out site and regional surveys, auditing fabrication facilities and project construction sites.

Carry out Site surveys with engineering disciplines and supervise subcontractors for geotechnical, top graphical and laser surveys on site.

Prepare reports of surveys and audits.

Contribute balanced analysis on subcontract strategy and division of work.

Develop scope of work for subcontracts. Review subcontract enquiries and bids for technical compliance.

6. Recruitment for mobilisation of personnel for HO and sites.

This job has no budget management attributes. It is suitable for a post graduate engineer with 5 years or more experience in project engineering/piping civil or structural.

MUST HAVE:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Construction qualification plus site experience. HSE qualifications CCNSG or IOSH is essential.
