We have a number of exciting new opportunities to work on a staff basis with our client based in South Manchester (Near Manchester Airport) to work in the nuclear and Oil & Gas industries.

Our client is an international process engineering contractor delivering safe, cost effective solutions for client`s investments in the worldwide process and energy industries. They offer services appropriate to each stage of a project`s development, maintaining an in-depth capability to undertake consultancy and conceptual studies, all levels of engineering and design, procurement and materials management, construction, commissioning, maintenance and training.

They are currently in process of growing a new operating division as part of further transformation of the Group to align closely with its customers` evolving requirements. The division will help their commitment to those customers in delivering an innovative and integrated service across engineering consultancy, construction and operations and maintenance.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

A Senior Designer is responsible for the preparation of specific design documentation for individual projects or proposals and will ensure that this documentation is prepared efficiently, accurately and in accordance with the project requirements

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ensure that all drawing office deliverables, whether CAD or manually produced, satisfy company accuracy and presentational requirements and are prepared in accordance with the Company and Project Quality Assurance requirements
Responsible for checking of drawings in accordance with Company Procedures
Act as a Senior Designer on proposals as assigned by the Chief Electrical Engineer and to carry out design work for such proposals
Liaise with other disciplines as required
Ensure personal compliance with current company policy, relevant legislation and company and client`s requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental matters and work in such a manner not to cause personal harm or injury to fellow workers, client and subcontractor employees or the environment
Ensure all work is carried out in a manner that will produce a safe and operable design, and that all personnel assigned work in a safe manner; in particular ensure that all personnel assigned to the worksite are adequately briefed and trained

DIMENSIONS:
Responsibility usually covers single medium projects or group of several small projects, or specific tasks or a group of tasks
The number of staff supervised is project dependent, but is generally up to 5 drawing office staff

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline in a range of industries
Proven capability as a Designer by the successful execution of a number of projects
A commensurate amount of experience with a proven track record as a Designer on several projects in a similar environment

QUALIFICATIONS:
ONC / OND / HNC / HND or equivalent qualification + commensurate experience

Main Purpose of Position
To produce electrical design details for special purpose, low volume, plant and equipment.

Specific Areas of Responsibility
To produce electrical schematics, diagrams, arrangements and schedules
Provide engineering support during the manufacture of plant and equipment.

Additional Tasks
To maintain and update document and drawing registers.
To assist with the production of Technical Reports and Documents.

Technical Competency
Broad based engineering experience in design, manufacturing and installation of electrical control systems.

Have experience or a good working knowledge of:-
LV Control Gear
Control systems
Instrumentation
Electrical Installations
IEE Regs.
Experienced AutoCAD user.

Essential experience:
ONC Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years electrical detailing experience
Nuclear engineering experience would be desirable

Our nuclear client based in Lancashire is currently recruiting for 5 Senior Electrical Engineers to work on long term contracts.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for producing design studies and manufacturing design studies for company projects.
The engineer will work within a multi-discipline design team and be responsible for undertaking the design of equipment as delegated by the Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager.
Work will be undertaken individually or by managing a small team of designers

Responsibilities
Produce design concepts.
Carry out technical risk analysis on designs for EMC compliance and CE certification.
Produce and maintain a technical file in accordance with Quality Assurance.
Produce designs that conform to the relevant British and European standards and client requirements
Ensure that the design addresses operability, maintainability and safety issues.
Produce designs that meet with project programmes and budgets.
Produce Design Justification Reports that demonstrate the design mitigates all technical risks identified.
Produce a level of information (drawings, specifications, works instructions, etc) that enable manufacturing to take place.
Check drawing details.
Undertake design studies and produce reports on outcome while making recommendations.

Experience required:
Minimum of 5 years engineering background
Broad based engineering experience in design manufacturing of electrical control systems
Design of electrical systems for gloveboxes
Machine safety directives
Low voltage control gear
Control systems
Instrumentation
Intimate knowledge of drawing principles and standards
Understanding of the requirements of the CE marking process

Job Role:

To support the Site EIC Project Engineer.

Production of design drawings using computer aided design equipment.

Review drawings for accuracy, compatibility, consistency, and for compliance with design criteria and overall project requirements.

Assist with production design work with discipline Engineers, including meetings and design reviews.

The ability to produce cable and tray routing diagrams, block cable diagrams, electrical schematics, instrument loop diagrams, cable schedules etc.

The ability to read and understand P&IDs, Mechanical GA`s and Piping drawings, Civil drawings is essential.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager on behalf of our oil and gas client based in Hull. This is to work on a perm staff basis and candidates will need to have experience within oil, gas, or chemical industries.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager the project managers primary role is to plan develop and lead all activities within multiple projects assigned to them. This will be focused on the Rough Asset, the UKs largest gas storage facility and will expand to cover the design, construction and eventually the operation of the turnkey projects.

Projects will be predominantly but not limited to Electrical Instrument and Control.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for delivery of sanctioned projects complying with the project management procedure.
Develop and lead with project team to develop and enhance project procedures and systems
Ensure projects comply with Health safety environment and legal standards
Develop project execution strategy to deliver projects along with technical authority and operational stakeholders
Effectively delegate work to 3rd party delivery managers
Manage transition from pre-sanction project owners in EPC
Be focal point for all project issues
Ensure project reporting procedures are enforced and reports are delivered to senior management team
Assist with audits of 3rd party contractors to ensure compliance with company systems
Manage a number of key contracts

Performance Criteria:
Overall successful project completion
Total cost of the project versus budget
Completion schedule versus plan

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate must have a passion for safety and consider the HSE implications of their work.
The candidate needs to have 10 years + experience in engineering project roles and be willing to work towards chartered engineer status.
Experience in gas production/Storage industry is desirable.
It is essential that the candidate has excellent problem solving and communication skills and have the ability to assimilate information quickly and make informed decisions.
The candidate must have the ability to maintain focus on strategic objectives and understand the wider business impact of issues.
The candidate will show initiative and drive and be able to motivate teams.
He/she will have the ability to influence groups and individuals within the organisation, in order to gain their commitment to deliver business objectives, and to create a positive working environment.
Key skills include: Project management, broad range of subjects knowledge, confident decision making ability, influencing skills, and time management.
Technical knowledge of Gas systems, Knowledge of regulations, Training will be provided where necessary.
