Privacy and cookie policy


This Privacy and Cookie notice tells you what to expect when NES Global Talent collects personal data. It applies to information we collect about:

  1. people who register with NES global Talent in relation to our recruitment services;
  2. job applicants and our current and former employees working internally as staff employees for the NES group of companies (“NES”);
  3. visitors to our website.

NES Group Limited is the registered Data Controller for NES (ICO registration number Z9518625) and is committed to maintaining security and confidentiality of personal data in accordance with the requirements of the UK Data Protection Act 1998. 

1. People who register with NES for recruitment services
When you or your organisation register with NES, we will make a record of personal data necessary to carry out the service for which you have registered and insert this data onto our global database.  NES is an international organisation and has a network of offices in numerous locations within Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australasia, Africa, the Middle East and Far East, each of which has access to our database.  As part of the services offered to you, any personal data provided to us may therefore be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate, including countries outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”).

Countries outside of the EEA may not have similar data protection laws as required by the European Union, however NES has processes in place to ensure that there are always appropriate safeguards to provide an adequate level of protection to your personal data and to ensure that your privacy rights are protected.   We will only process personal data for the purpose of finding you work, to match you with appropriate candidates in accordance with the agreed service requirement or to contact you regarding the services NES provides.  Only authorised NES employees have access to your data which is always processed in line with our privacy policy which enforces compliance with data protection legislation, details of which are available upon request from our data protection officer using the contact details below.  By submitting a curriculum vitae or otherwise registering with NES you will be consenting to our use of any personal data in accordance with this notice.   

By registering with NES you also intend us to submit your personal data to third parties for the purpose of fulfilling your requested service requirements and any associated business activities.  If NES wishes to send your personal data to any third party, we will contact you first to obtain your permission prior to sending your personal data.  However, if we have been unable to contact you, there may be circumstances when, in your best interests and in line with your initial specification, your personal data will be submitted to a third party. If you do not want us to send your personal data to a third party without your prior permission (even when unable to contact you and in our belief that it serves your best interests) you should instruct your dedicated consultant.  

NES does not sell or pass your personal data to any third party who may use that information to try and sell you goods or services.  You should be aware that from time to time in line with your registration, NES may transfer your personal information to third parties we use for the purpose of providing services to you or its clients such as medical or professional insurance providers.  NES retains control of and responsibility for any such use of your personal data.  Details of these providers will be passed on to you in order to provide the services you have requested and for the purposes of associated administration.  

All personal data collected by NES is only made available to those authorised individuals and third parties who need to handle that information for the purposes outlined in this notice.  By registering with NES, whether through the website, by phone or post you consent to receive information and communications from NES.  NES will only send you information which it believes is relevant to your job search.  For example, we may send out appropriate publications and distribute electronic newsletters.  

Apart from the above, we will never pass your personal data to anyone without your specific consent unless we are obliged to do so:

  • by law and/or pursuant to government or regulatory requests;
  • by a law enforcement agency requesting it in connection with the commission of any offence (once we are reasonably satisfied as to the circumstances surrounding the request);
  • to protect our users and ourselves; or
  • to ensure the proper operation of our systems.

If our business is sold or integrated with another business, your personal data may be disclosed to our advisors and any prospective purchasers and their advisors and will be passed on to the new owners of the business to use in the same way as set out in this Privacy & Cookie Notice.

2. Job applicants and our current and former employees working internally as staff employees for NES
When individuals apply to work at NES, we will only use the information they supply to us to process their application and to monitor recruitment statistics. Where we want to disclose information to a third party, for example where we want to take up a reference we will not do so without informing them beforehand unless the disclosure is prohibited by law.

Personal data about unsuccessful candidates will be held for 12 months after the recruitment exercise has been completed, it will then be destroyed or deleted. We retain de-personalised statistical information about applicants to help inform our recruitment activities, but no individuals are identifiable from that data.

Once a person has taken up employment with NES, we will compile a file relating to their employment. The information contained in this will be kept secure and will only be used for purposes directly relevant to that person’s employment.  Once their employment with NES has ended, we will retain the file only for such time as provided within our data protection policy and will then delete it.

3. Visitors to our website
When someone visits www.nesglobaltalent.com we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.  We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not identify anyone.  We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.  We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifying information from any source.  If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this.  We will make it clear when we collect personal data and will explain what we intend to do with it.

Use of cookies by NES
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

This cookie is used to store data about the session that persists across page requests. There is a “Back to Search Results” link on the job detail page that appears if there is session information present and is hidden otherwise. If the session cookie is blocked this link stays hidden and the user has to rely on the browser’s Back button to navigate back to the search results    
Drupal batch

has_js Drupal uses JavaScript to set a cookie that is only used by its batch processing API. Blocking it will not affect the user experience on the site.
